From May 18 to 20, 2018, the Second Railway Reinforced Earth Technology Symposium was held in Xichang City, Sichuan Province. The symposium was hosted by the Standardization (Subgrade) Professional Technical Committee of the China Railway Society and co-organized by China Railway Second Institute Engineering Group Co., Ltd. and the Reinforcement Specialized Committee of the China Geosynthetics Engineering Association (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”), with support from Chengdu–Kunming Railway Co., Ltd. and China Railway No. 9 Bureau Group Co., Ltd. Leaders from relevant departments of our company participated throughout the entire event.

Haoyang Environment Participates in the Second Railway Reinforced Soil Technology Symposium

　　This conference marks another major technical exchange event for the railway industry, following the inaugural Railway Reinforced Earth Technology Symposium held in 2010. The event aims to summarize and showcase the research achievements in reinforced earth technology within China’s railway sector over recent years, actively fostering technical collaboration. Through on-site demonstrations, standard dissemination, and technical discussions, it seeks to further promote and standardize the application of geosynthetic materials in railway engineering, advance related research, design, and manufacturing, and support the ongoing development of railway science and technology. This effort is of great significance in advancing the national “Belt and Road” initiative and the goal of building a transportation powerhouse.

　　The seminar comprised three main components: a field visit to observe the new reinforced‑soil retaining wall along the Chengdu–Kunming Railway, a briefing on the technical standards for geosynthetic materials in railway engineering, and a forum on reinforced‑soil technology in railways. More than 130 participants attended, including representatives from the Science and Information Department, the Engineering Management Center, the Appraisal Center, the China Railway Society, the Economic and Planning Institute, the China Academy of Railway Sciences, China Railway Design Corporation, the First Railway Survey and Design Institute, the Second Railway Survey and Design Institute, the Fourth Railway Survey and Design Institute, China Railway Consulting, the Fifth Railway Survey and Design Institute, the Sixth Railway Survey and Design Institute, China Railway Shanghai Institute, CCCC Railway Institute, Southwest Jiaotong University, Shijiazhuang Tiedao University, as well as Chengdu–Kunming Railway Company, China Railway No. 9 Bureau, and manufacturers of geosynthetic materials that contributed to the development of the relevant standards.
