At 10:20 a.m. on August 22, 2018, the intake gate of the Xiningbao Reservoir, part of the Zhongnan Water Source Project in Yanchi County—a commemorative project marking the 60th anniversary of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region—was slowly opened, signaling the commencement of the reservoir’s first impoundment.

　　The Zhongnan Water Source Project of Yanchi County—the Xiningbao Reservoir—is located in Dujigou Village, Hui’anbao Town, Yanchi County. It has a total storage capacity of 1.651 million cubic meters and a total investment of RMB 103.2 million. Construction commenced on August 5, 2017. Through the tireless efforts and meticulous project management of all participating entities, the main reservoir works were fully completed on August 16, 2018, and the project successfully passed the stage acceptance for the sub‑projects on August 19, 2018, as well as the operational acceptance for water impoundment on August 21, 2018.
