At 10:00 p.m. on March 14, during a nighttime inspection in heavy-pollution conditions, HaoYang Environmental Co.,Ltd.’s on-duty staff—Gao Deqiang, Sun Xiqing, and Liu Bin—discovered several ignition points more than ten meters to the west of the plant area. Driven by the wind, the fire was spreading rapidly, creating an extremely urgent situation. Tian Kun, director of the filament workshop, immediately mobilized the on-site personnel to rush to the scene. Upon arrival, they found that both the fire and the wind were quite intense, and the flames were approaching high-voltage lines and transformers, now only a few meters away. The fire could spread to the high-voltage lines at any moment, resulting in even greater damage.
At 10:00 p.m. on March 14, HaoYang Environmental Co.,Ltd.’s night-shift personnel—Gao Deqiang, Sun Xiqing, and Liu Bin—discovered several ignition points more than ten meters west of the plant premises during a nighttime inspection conducted in response to severe air pollution. Driven by the wind, the fires were spreading rapidly, creating an extremely urgent situation. Tian Kun, director of the filament workshop, immediately mobilized the on-duty staff to rush to the scene. Upon arrival, they found that both the fire and the wind were quite intense, and the flames were approaching high-voltage lines and transformers, now just a few meters away. The fire could easily spread to the high-voltage lines, resulting in even greater damage. They promptly used the fire extinguishers and shovels provided on-site to put out the visible flames. After nearly 30 minutes of concerted, vigorous efforts by all employees, the blaze was brought under control. Following the incident, Director Tian arranged for on-duty personnel to conduct repeated patrols around the perimeter of the fire site, strictly guarding against the emergence of any new outbreaks.
Thanks to the prompt response, the fire did not result in any casualties or further property damage. Staff from the Urban Power Supply Bureau subsequently arrived on scene and noted that the blaze was located near the 10-kV Hanhuai East Line; our timely intervention prevented property losses for numerous customers along the line.
