Following nominations by grassroots unions, evaluation by a panel of expert judges, and review by relevant authorities, Comrade Yang Guangchao from our company’s Technical Department was awarded the “Yucheng Artisan” nomination prize.

He believes that the spirit of craftsmanship is a professional ethos, reflected in workers’ pursuit of value and their well-rounded competencies, and imbued with such admirable qualities as expertise, rigor, focus, patience, dedication, innovation, excellence, and selflessness. In August 2002, he joined the project to develop polyester spunbond‑needlepunched geotextiles with an annual capacity of 5,000 tons—a pioneering initiative that filled a domestic gap and was also designated as a national Torch Program project. He was involved throughout the entire process, from plant design to equipment installation, commissioning, and modification, ultimately ensuring the production of qualified products. Starting as a technician and later rising to the role of chief technical officer of the company, he accumulated invaluable experience over many years of managing production processes and technologies, cultivating numerous outstanding technical professionals for the industry and making significant contributions. He has obtained more than 30 national patents, including one nationally funded project and one provincial-level specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative product, generating substantial social and economic benefits for both the enterprise and society.

In July 2015, he assumed the position of Technical Director at HaoYang Environmental Co.,Ltd., primarily engaging in R&D of geosynthetic materials, development of production processes, and equipment improvement. He has led and participated in the company’s development of more than ten patents, eight of which have already been granted patent certificates. Currently, he is working on a key national science and technology project under the 13th Five-Year Plan—the research and development of core technologies for a polypropylene filament spunbond needle-punched geotextile production line. Significant breakthroughs have already been achieved in these core technologies, and the product is undergoing trials. This project fills a domestic gap; given that the product exhibits superior corrosion resistance compared to the polyester products widely used in engineering today, its implementation is expected to yield substantial economic and social benefits.
